2026 internships are offered in Congresswoman Sewell’s Washington, D.C. office and her Alabama district offices in Birmingham, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa.
The 7th Project Association’s flagship program places college students from Alabama’s 7th Congressional District into Congressional internships — opening pathways into public service and the federal workforce. Interns are selected on a non-partisan basis by the Board of Directors based on academic performance, leadership abilities, and demonstrated financial need.
Applicants must be undergraduate students currently enrolled in college with a 3.0 GPA or higher who are residents of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District. Students may attend an accredited institution anywhere but must have direct ties to the district. Computer and office skills are required. The Board of Directors conducts interviews, and selection is made on a non-partisan basis.
Submit your application materials — resume, cover letter, photo, FAFSA, and three references. Reach out and we’ll send you the current application, or apply through Congresswoman Sewell’s office.
